Coffer Terms of Service
Plain-English notice: we are not lawyers and this is not a substitute for legal advice. This document is written to be honest and readable rather than exhaustive.
Coffer is made by PC Industries ("we," "us," "Coffer"), operated by Paul Christopher as its sole operator. Contact: admin@meetcoffer.com. By creating a Coffer account or using the Coffer plugin/dashboard, you agree to these terms.
1. What Coffer is
Coffer is a third-party RuneLite plugin and companion web service for Old School RuneScape (OSRS) that gives Grand Exchange flipping suggestions, position coaching, and profit/loss tracking. Coffer is advisory only. It never places, cancels, or modifies a Grand Exchange offer on your behalf — you place every offer yourself, in-game. Coffer reads your GE activity and tells you what it thinks, nothing more.
No guarantee of profit. Flipping items on the Grand Exchange carries real in-game risk — prices move, offers may not fill, and suggestions are estimates based on historical/aggregated data, not promises. You can lose in-game wealth following Coffer's suggestions just as you can flipping on your own judgment. We make no warranty that using Coffer will be profitable and are not responsible for in-game losses that result from your trading decisions.
2. Not affiliated with Jagex or RuneLite
Coffer is not made, endorsed, sponsored, or verified by Jagex Ltd. or the RuneLite developers. It's an independent third-party tool distributed through the RuneLite Plugin Hub. Nothing in Coffer or this document should be read as implying Jagex or RuneLite endorsement, partnership, or approval.
You are responsible for complying with Jagex's own Terms of Service and Rules of Conduct yourself. We do not police, waive, or override Jagex's rules, and we can't protect your OSRS account if Jagex takes action against it for any reason, including use of third-party tools. If you're unsure whether a specific use of Coffer is consistent with Jagex's rules, that's a question for Jagex's own policies, not us.
3. Acceptable use
Coffer is a merching/trading-assistant tool. You agree not to use it, or attempt to use it, for:
- Real-world trading (RWT) — buying, selling, or facilitating the exchange of in-game items/currency for real money or assets outside the game.
- Botting or automation of gameplay beyond what Coffer itself does (advisory suggestions and reading your own offers/trades). Coffer does not place offers for you, and you may not use it as a component of a tool that does.
- Account selling, sharing, or trading.
- Circumventing rate limits, abusing the API, scraping data at scale, or attempting to access another user's account or data.
- Any use that would violate Jagex's rules, applicable law, or these terms.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate this section (see "Termination," below).
4. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding agreement to use Coffer where required by your jurisdiction's laws (this typically means being old enough to consent, or having a parent/guardian's involvement if not). See the Privacy Policy's "Children / age" section for how we handle the fact that OSRS's playerbase skews young.
5. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your username/password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- Don't share your account or credentials with anyone.
- Tell us (admin@meetcoffer.com) if you believe your account has been compromised; changing your password invalidates old sessions (see the Privacy Policy's "Security" section).
- We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on account-related requests (password resets, deletion) to avoid impersonation.
6. Beta status / no SLA
Coffer is in open beta. It's free to use today. Expect bugs, downtime, and change without notice — we have no uptime guarantee, no service-level agreement, and no committed release cadence at this stage. Data loss during beta, while something we actively try to prevent (backups, migrations), is not something we can guarantee against. We'll try to give notice of major breaking changes where practical, but beta status means we don't promise it.
7. Payments, subscriptions, and billing (future — not yet in effect)
Coffer's beta is currently free. Paid tiers are planned, to be processed by Stripe. When paid tiers launch:
- Stripe will handle payment processing; PCI compliance for card data is Stripe's responsibility, not something Coffer's own servers touch directly.
- This section will be updated with real pricing, billing-cycle, cancellation, and refund terms before any payment is charged — nothing here should be read as a currently-binding billing term.
- Placeholder intent (to be finalized when Stripe lands): subscriptions billed on a recurring basis, cancel-anytime with access continuing through the paid period, and a refund policy TBD. None of this is a commitment until the actual paid-tier terms are published and dated.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Coffer is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including — to the extent permitted by law — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Suggestions, price data, and P&L figures are estimates and may be wrong.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PC Industries and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of in-game items/currency, profits, or data, arising from your use of Coffer, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms (in particular Section 3, "Acceptable use"), for extended inactivity, or if required to comply with law. You may stop using Coffer, and request account deletion, at any time (see the Privacy Policy's "Your data, your choices" section). Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. limitation of liability, disclaimers) continue to apply after your account ends.
11. Changes to these terms
We'll update this document as Coffer changes (notably, once paid tiers launch) and update the "Effective date" above. Material changes (e.g. anything affecting billing or your rights) will be called out, not silently edited.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
